Summer Intensive Formation Program 2019


The Summer Intensive Formation Program is offered each summer. It provides those involved in catechetical ministry in various contexts (including parish catechetical programs, catholic schools, and lay movements) with the opportunity to participate in fromation and training in a concentrated and intensive summer format. All of this formation is also offered throughout the year

This year training in sexuality catechesis and three specialized trainings for Catholic school personnel and will be offered in June at the Chancery at St. Dominic Center, 2403 Holcombe Blvd., Houston, Texas 77021.

Each of the nine FTCM theological content courses will be offered in June at the University of St. Thomas.

The nine theological content courses will be repeated in July at the following locations: one week each at St. Laurence Catholic Church in Sugar Land, St. Helen Catholic Church in Pearland, and Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church in the Cypress area.

Program Details


Please plan on arriving early as the classes begin promptly at the indicated time. Please bring all personal items or devices necessary for note taking. Attendance credit for latecomers is at the discretion of the program director. A one-hour lunch break is offered from 12 to 1 p.m. There are numerous restaurants within a 3-mile radius or you may bring your lunch.


To secure your space, please complete registration by 4pm CDT, Friday, May 31. The lowest cost for each session is available only until this time. For registration after 4pm CDT on June 1 and before the day of the class the cost increases by 20%. For registration on the day of the class the cost increases by a total of 40%. All classes have a registration cap based on available space in the room in which they will take palce. Classes with insufficient registration may be cancelled. If this is the case you will be notified by June 3 and will receive a full refund.


A Catholic Bible and the Catechism of the Catholic Church are required for all courses.

For all theological content courses there are additional required textbooks that must be purchased separately ahead of time.
